Well, we are finally going to take that vacation that we've been talking about for a year...no club dates in March. We are using the time to learn a new show (originals and covers) and get some deserved R&R. Wait till you see how refreshed we will look and sound!!

Also, check out who is the RKS Guitars Featured Artist!!

10.23.06

Hey Plumheads, thanks for the continued support and stay tuned for some cool shows/events coming up in the near future. We’d also like to welcome our new Highrollin’ Plumheads!! For those of you who don’t know, Elvio has been writing and producing songs for Ace Young’s debut album. Their 1st release “Scattered” was released to national radio and itunes last week. Already, there are 15+ top 40 stations that have added to their playlists in markets such as Cleveland, Boston, Las Vegas, Florida, Georgia, New York, and others. 98PXY has been playing it and plan to add it to their regular playlist as well. Believe it or not, “Scattered” is already on the itunes charts in the pop top 100 songs. That’s tremendous considering it’s only been out less than a week. We need to help Elvio and Ace by going to itunes and downloading the song, if you like it of course, and telling all of your friends about it. The more downloads, the better!!! The better Elvio and Ace do, the better Uncle Plum does. We’ve been selling lots of cd’s to new fans all over the country through the “Ace” connection and our music is getting out there. Also, call 98PXY and Kiss 106.7 and request the song if you like it. Thanks again on behalf of the band and start downloadin’!!! Let’s help get “Scattered” in the top10!! Please copy this and send it your address books and let’s keep the buzz going!

Also, we are proud to announce that Mike Gladstone is the newest artist to be endorsed by RKS Guitars. Mike joins artists like Ron Wood (Stones), Dave Mason, Don Felder (Eagles), Ricki Lee Jones and others playing the sexiest (and most unusual looking) guitar you have ever seen or heard. Check out Mike's new "Ruby Red" at future plum shows!!

10.11.06

We are proud to announce our new sponsor - Southern Comfort. Welcome aboard!! We look forward to lots of cool events, giveaways, etc. with this way cool company.

Also, check out Mike at the RKS Guitars website. Feel free to leave a comment!!

11.10.05 Thank you to the readers of City Newspaper for voting us the BEST ORIGINAL BAND IN ROCHESTER. We really appreciate it!!
8.04.05

I just got yelled at in an email for not updating the news....I believe the quote was "Santa comes more often than you update the news". I did not include the explitives. So...I spring to action.....what's up? We've have been having a great summer playing outdoor shows and festivals (Party in the Park, Ten Ugly Men, East End etc..). The crowds have been great and the shows have been a blast. Feedback from our first major label showcase were extremely positive and we have more showcases planned in the near future. The CD is selling very well and we are getting tons of national airplay on XM radio (channel 52 - the unsigned channel...for now :)

Right now, we are in woodshed mode learning a whole bunch of new songs to update the show. We have even started to plan our next CD. It should be done by early September....just kidding.

Anyway, keep on spreading that Plum love and we'll see you at the shows. Maybe we won't get rained out again!! MG

4.26.05 A showcase success so to speak…A small intimate showcase was the atmosphere on Tuesday night at Montana Studios in Midtown Manhattan. A “mini” sound check proved what we already know: our guys are amazing, talented musicians. Record executives from Arista Records, Lava Records, and RoadRunner Records began to file in and the set began with “Any Sound” leading into the crowd favorite “Stephanie.” What followed was music to our ears. A fabulous “So Blind” was followed by the always impressive “If I Can’t” and the amazing “10 Steps.” The guys decided to show off their greatness by doing a rendition of “Rocketman” that rivals Elton John’s version. And for the Grand Finale you ask…none other than “Place” to show those record peeps that they know how to rock!

The boys played one of the best shows I have seen them play in four years. And by the looks of it a record exec seemed to have felt the same way. Jeff Fenster, head of A & R at Arista Records was rocking out the entire set list. Fenster was seemingly jamming to the music of Uncle Plum the full half hour or so. Could this be a new beginning for our favorite four gentlemen? Keep your eyes and ears open and fingers crossed!! See you at the next show! ~Laney

We are very proud to annouce that the people of Rochester has voted us "Rochester's Best Band" in City Newspaper for the 2nd year in a row. Thanks everyone....we really appreciate it.

We just want to thank you for an awesome weekend....Waterstreet was a blast - a big thanks goes out to the Travis Rocco band for smoking opening set. Saturday at Millenium totally rocked....hey Paulie, what were those two girls doing in front of you anyway? ;)

10.24.02 We’d like to thank everyone for the continued support and the feedback. We’re currently working on lots of new tunes, both covers and originals, and we look forward to surprising you “plumheads” in the weeks to come!!! Wouldn’t it be nice NOT to have to visit “The Old Apartment” just to get some “Nookie” from “My Own Worst Enemy” who knows that “Love Is What I Got”?? Anyways.....we’ll be playing at least 2 new tunes every weekend. We promise!! If you have any requests don’t hesitate to drop us a note. Feedback is always appreciated! One last thing... How would you guys feel about an acoustic/unplugged segment in the show?? Let us know! Thanks again and we’ll see you guys this weekend!!
10.14.02 Hello plumheads, certified plummers and/or folks who are just curious. Welcome to Pauly's corner for the week of 10/14/02. Here I sit with my dunce cap on and my hand descretely touching private places ready to share (a few of) my weekly thoughts with you. (Yeah, I know, some of you didn't even know I could write).

I've been saying I was going to start a weekly journal to post on the Web page since....well, since a long time. But just like I keep promising that we will play Disturbed and then we don't, I've been putting this off also. I think it has been mainly due to my fear of sounding, or reading rather, like an idiot. Finally this week at practice (yeah, we actually did practice) Joe said, in between swigs of Molson Canadian, "Menga Pauly you need to start writing that journal thing." (did I spell "menga" right? Menga, what does that word mean anyway? Could someone from Gates fill me in?) How can I refuse Joey...how can anyone?

I write in a personal journal at least once a week and usually am dispelased at my entires when I read them back later (wouldn't you just love to read what I write about Elvio, Mike and Joe....oh, grab a step later and crawl out of the sewer you Jerry Springer junkies...it's nothing but love). So, with that said....here I go....I feel so vulnerable...I think I need Joe to hold me...Mike's probably a good cuddler also I bet.

Alright already.

Last weekend we played at our two favorite local pubs; Spenders on Friday and Millenium on Saturday. I always feel like a "roll up your sleeves and pound out the tunes" rocker when we play those clubs. The exception this weekend was my interpretive dance segment that flowed into a rendition of "Maniac" from Flashdance. The only thing missing was the legwarmers. If Elvio had been questioning my sexuality up to that point then he must be even more perplexed now.

Our epiphany as a band this weekend was this....must learn more tunes. And we have! I know there is always someone who requests Old Apartment....but it's time to retire it for awhile guys. We spent a good junk of this week practicing (PRACTICING...can you imagine?) lots of new songs....including Disturbed. It's been so much fun. I'm really looking forward to the weekend at the Centers and Milestones. (By the way, if you bring the legwarmers the little dumb rock rock might just wear them!).

Thanks as usual for being so supportive you guys! We are so lucky and glad you all were born and subsequently show interest in us. (I mean that very sincerely).

Make it rain sunshine Plumheads!
Pauly
8.19.02 What a weekend!! My head hurts...literally. East End was un-F-ing believable....the rain stopped and the Plum rocked hard for 6 or 7 thousand of our closest friends. I (Mike) did a rock-ish pose during the first song, lost my balance and fell over backwards. The next afternoon at the Seneca Lake Whalewatch(?!) I (Mike) did another rock-ish move....this time jumped up onto the drum riser...and missed. I slammed my head into a drum mic stand and opened up and impressive gash....more blood than a Sex Pistols show. The nice folks as Geneva Hospital crazy-glued my head back together and sent me on my way. Luckily, we topped off the weekend Sunday night at the Night of a (bakers) Dozen Stars at The Center's at High Falls. We joined our good friends from Perfect World and The Taint for a night of injury-free, serious Rock-Noise!! It was a blast.
6.26.02 Hi Everyone....Mike here. I just want to take a minute to thank all of you for your support, kind words, guestbook entries and emails I received all this month. I went through a pretty frightening time and it was great to know that you all were behind me and the band. The good news is, I feel great and am totally ready to rock the rest of the summer. We're taking the month of July to learn tons of new songs (originals included). Make sure to catch the Plum @ Bennigan's in Syracuse on July 25th and Ten Ugly Men on July 27th....we plan to explode (only in the best way, of course). See Ya!!!
5.24.02

The Plum has invaded Buffalo, NY!! On May 20th, we finally got our butts on the NYS Thruway and headed west. The Club we were playing at (D'Arcy Magee's) was located on Franklin St. Using the internet directions provided by this page (and being clueless about Buffalo) we proceeded to find Franklin St but saw nothing but a quiet working class residential neighborhood...no bar in site. As it turns out, the directions provided by the above mentioned site took us to the wrong Franklin St...one in the town of Lackawanna (although a lovely town ;), a good 20 minutes from downtown Buffalo, where we wanted to be. The moral of the story, don't trust internet map directions!!

The Chippewa St area is very cool....unlike anything we have here in Rochester. Plently of clubs (and bands) all within walking distance. The street was filled with people at 3 AM...cool. After our show, we had a chance to check out some local bands and make some new friends.

Anyway, the gig was fun although it took a set for the un-initiated crowd to became "One with the Plum"....once they did, they were screaming for more. We want to thank all the faithful Plumheads who made the trip with us...we love you guys!!!

Oh and by the way waycool Uncle Plum T-shirts and hats are now available at the shows...do you want to risk being seen without one of each?? I don't think so.....

4.08.02 What an awesome night at Waterstreet on Saturday...we had the pleasure of jamming with one of the best guitarists in the world, Greg Howe (Michael Jackson, N'Sync, Enrique Iglesias, whew!!). Not only is Greg an awesome player but a great guy as well...we hope to see him again next time he is in town. Thanks goes out to our good friends Weiseguize, a great local band, for introducing us to Greg and inviting us up onto their stage for the first performance of the WeizePlumGuitarArmy.
12.18.01 New Year's Eve @ Waterstreet Music Hall.....be there - there is no alternative
11.14.01

As Aaron Lewis once said, "It's been a while"....well anyway...Thanks for all the heartfelt concern over Paulie's head...luckily, it's hard and resilient. For those of you who were not at the Nov. 3rd Spender's show, Paul's head collided with Mike's heavy Les Paul during a "spirited" moment at the end of the second set....blood, unconsiousness, ambulance, and emergency room ensued....no third set. They sewed up the extra orafice between his eyes and lo and behold, Paul is fine...all the good name of Rock and Roll (beat that TG's!!! FU). Sorry about cutting the show short (Paul wanted to continue!!)...we'll make it up to you at the next one.

We want to thank the people of Rochester for voting us City Magazine's Best Band in Rochester....we are truly honored.

Also, two new originals have been added to the show..."Shine On" and "Any Sound"....we hope to get them up on the sounds page very soon.

9.10.01 Just want to wish everyone (Plumheads!!) a huge thanks for making this an awesome summer....we had way too much fun! We've been working on the CD (two new originals added to the live show) and updating the show (BIGGER SOUND, BIGGER LIGHTS) so make sure you get out and shake your stuff with us this fall....
6.04.01 Huge thanks to all of the Plumheads who bravely boarded the Plum Bus and partied thier a**es off with us at Freddy's in Syracuse - WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!....lotso excellent bad behavior was exhibited by all involved...we're very proud of you. We will be sure to do it again soon!!
5.16.01 Streaming Plum Music now available on MP3.COM.....click here!! Don't forget to sign up for the Plum Bus trip to Syracuse on June 2nd....see details below.
5.03.01

Important Announcement!! Uncle Plum will be playing it's first gig in the Syracuse area on 6.02.01 at Freddy's. We thought that it would be a great idea to take as many Plumheads as possible to the show with us....what better way to do this than to rent a bus and show those folks what we're all about.

There is room for 65 people on the Plum Bus so if you would like to reserve a spot please send us an email with "Plum Bus" in the subject. Please include the full names of all the people who will be going. We will send back an email confirmation if we can reserve a spot for you. You can also reserve a spot on the bus at our shows....talk you any band member during a break.

Cost for transportation to and from the club (admission to the club is included) will be $25 to be collected when you get on the bus. Make sure to bring ID as this trip is only for 21 and over (sorry!)

The bus will depart at 7:30 from Eastview Mall (behind the Jo-Mor theater)....you can park your cars there.

This is sure to be a blast...hope you can join us!!

4.25.01

The Waterstreet Music Hall gig on 4.13 was incredible. There is nothing better than seeing 700 of your closest friends in such an intimate gathering. We had such a great time, that we're going to make it a monthly occurrence.....bring your favorite designated driver and come out and act ridiculous with Paul (ok...and everybody else too).

Here's something.....some fans came up to us and asked permission (like why?) to name their boat "The SS Plum Head"....make sure you say hi to them out on the lake this summer.

In other news, we are currently in the studio working on more original tunes with plans to have a full length CD out by the end of the year...oh...and we promise to have a new batch of EP's within the next month...no...really.

We have booked some shows in Syracuse and Buffalo....the first being June 2 at Freddy's in Syracuse....we will be organizing a bus trip to bring as many Plumheads as possible with us to kick the *&%^ out of that town....keep an eye on the website for furthur details....do you really think Syracuse is ready for Plumheads? Very scary.

3.21.01 Hey...what happened to my new years message? Did some local punk band hack into our site (just kidding)...anyway, I think I lost it. Well here's the good news and the bad news....the good news is that we sold 500 CD's in the first week of its release.....the bad news is that we don't have anymore....the good news is that we should have lots more in a few weeks...please bear with us. Due to heavy Plumhead demand, we will soon be playing Waterstreet Music Hall and other larger venues....we can't wait! Oh - and check out the Sounds section
11.13.00
It's a girl!
Ariel Leviva Gladstone
6 lbs. 15 oz.
9.10.00 Our sincere apologies to anyone that went to the Pelican's Nest on Labor day to see us. The weather was bad in the morning so the club decided to cancel the show. We hope you guys aren't mad at us :(......On a better note, come out and support us as we open for Neve at the Water Street Music Hall on Tuesday, 9/12 - it's a free show!!
8.19.00 We played a double last night...the first being the East End Festival in front of Richmond's downtown. The show was notable because it was the first time the Plum ever played in the rain. Usually, if it's an outdoor gig, the sun comes out as soon as we start..we've been very lucky so far. Not the case on Friday...there was no tent and we kept playing through a torrential downpour - just like kids spashing in a huge puddle. The faithful Plumheads were loving it (so were we) and we just didn't have the heart to stop playing. Unfortunately, we could only keep this up for about 5 songs - at this point we felt seriously threatened by electrocution.

Afterwards, we made our way over to our first show at Ahhh's in Greece. When we went to plug in our equipment, we found that due to the large amount of water the gear had taken on, nothing worked correctly...sh*t!! Fortunately, one of our Plumheads (thanks, Tammy!) kept a blow dryer in her car and we ended up taking apart our amps and guitars and blowdrying the parts! Eventually (about 5 minutes before showtime) stuff started (almost - not quite) working correctly.

The show ended up being awesome (we even debuted 2 new songs!), cumulating with our friend "The Pitbull" (our personal 1 man moshpit) swinging from the ductwork above the stage. Luckily, the ceiling didn't collapse on us. F-ing A!!!

8.1.00 Well, it's finally here!! After many, many hours of hell, the Uncle Plum site is up and running. I hope you have as much fun browsing it as I had making it (yeah...right). Plans for the near future include more pix, sound and video and cool Plum merchandise. Don't forget to email the Webmaster (aka...me) if you have any suggestions, complaints, problems, etc..... Anyway, the plan is to keep you up to date with what's going on in our crazy lives.

The Ten Ugly Men event on 7.22.00 at Ellison Park was a blast! It was a pleasure to share the stage with our friends Letizia, Triple Play and Perfect World. I think most of the 4000 people there ended up on stage with with us (I thought it was going to collapse!) during the last few songs...it was nuts! Somehow we managed to make it to Froggy's to play three more sets later that evening.
